Main lines of research
Our research group specializes in the study of the molecular and physiological basis that controls energy metabolism, and how this relates to human pathologies. We study the molecular mechanis- ms of adipocyte gene control, muscle and hepatic differentiation in relation to metabolism as well as fat functionality. Also, new metabolic and endocrine
functions of cells, tissues and organs, and its control by hormones and nutrients are characterized. This involves the development of models at the sub-ce- llular, cellular and animal levels, and the study of bio- logical material from patients with obesity and other metabolic diseases.
